The Shire of Cue is provided with a contract building service from the Shire of Bruce Rock who employ a level 2 Registered Building Surveyor. A level two building surveyor can approve up to three storeys and 2,000m2 of buildings. All applications are scanned and emailed for immediate consideration. The Building Surveyor can be contacted on AEHSWA@gmail.com or 0409 981 144. It is recommended that applicants discuss their proposed building prior to the submission of plans. The Building Act 2011 places an obligation on the local government to process the application within 25 calendar days subject to the application being complete and compliant with the relevant edition of the Building Code of Australia, currently 2014. The Building Surveyor may stop the clock once where additional information is required to be submitted. The Applicant has 21 days to provide the required information or the application may lapse. The Building Commission website provides a series of checklists under the heading “keys to quick approvals” for applicants to ensure the information sought by the provisions if the Act is provided correctly to minimize delays in application processing.
